Superdose formed in Goiânia, Brazil in 1999 with Tomate on vocals, Cadu on guitar, Renan on bass, and Márcio on drums. They released their debut album 'Eu Seria um Bom Fusca' in 2001, which included the single 'Whisky Pra Beber.' That song became a radio hit and helped the band gain national attention.
Their third album 'Inferno' from 2007 drew some criticism for its explicit lyrics, though it still found an audience. The band has released six studio albums through 2016, including 'Superdose' in 2005, '451 Graus Fahrenheit' in 2010, and 'Pra Ouvir na Estrada' in 2013.
In 2014, Superdose had a legal dispute with their former manager over unpaid royalties that was eventually resolved. The current lineup still features Tomate, Cadu, and Renan, with Marcelo now on drums instead of Márcio.
