Surge formed in the early 2000s with Ethan James on vocals and guitar, Emily Carter on bass and vocals, and Jake Morgan on drums. Their debut album 'Resistance' came out in 2005 and included the song 'Choice,' which got them some attention. They put out two more albums, 'Evolution' in 2009 and 'Unleashed' in 2012.
In 2007, Ethan James was arrested for drug possession, which caused some trouble for the band. They kept going, though Jake Morgan left in 2010 and was replaced by Sam Miller on drums. Emily Carter left in 2016, with Anya Petrova taking over bass and vocals.
