Swim Deep formed in Birmingham in 2011 with Austin Williams on vocals, Tom Higgins and James Balmont on guitars, Cavan McCarthy on bass, and Zachary Robinson on drums. Their debut album 'Where the Heaven Are We' came out in 2013, featuring the track 'Honey' that got some attention.
They followed up with albums like 'Mothers' in 2016 and 'Emerald Classics' in 2018. In 2021 they released a single called 'King City', which appears on their list of top songs alongside 'To My Brother' and 'Beach Justice'.
The existing history mentions Higgins had some personal issues around 2015 that led to a brief pause, but the band kept working after that. Their current lineup still includes Williams and Higgins.
