Swim Rest

Swim Rest formed in Los Angeles in the early 2010s around vocalist and guitarist Jon Bryant, bassist Mike Buckley, and drummer Matt Tong. They started playing together with a shared interest in indie rock, eventually developing a sound that leaned toward the ethereal and introspective.

Their debut album "Skating" came out in 2014, giving a name to one of their early songs and establishing their approach with dreamy guitars and haunting vocals. They followed it with "The Fall" in 2017 and "The Calm" in 2020, each record exploring slightly different textures while staying rooted in their moody, guitar-based style.

In 2016, the band hit a pause when a legal dispute with their former label temporarily suspended their activities. They worked through it and kept recording, maintaining a steady if low-profile output through the late 2010s and into the next decade.
