Sydney formed with Sarah Blackwood on vocals, Jason Murray on guitar, Gillian Morrison on bass, and Andrew MacLeod on drums. Their debut album 'In Dreams We Believe' came out in 2007, giving the band its name from the title track. That song, along with others like 'Deadlines' and 'Don't Call me Scorpion,' established their sound with Blackwood's vocals over Murray's mix of acoustic and electric guitar work.
In 2010, they released the album 'Wonder Lost' and a single called 'Breathe' that drew some attention for its subject matter. The band kept recording through the 2010s, putting out 'Intuition' in 2014 and 'Infinite' in 2018. Their most recent album, 'The Journey,' arrived in 2022.
