Systema Solar

Systema Solar formed in 2006 in Cartagena, Colombia, as a collective of musicians and producers. They started playing in parks and street corners, working with rhythms from the Colombian Caribbean coast like cumbia and champeta. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2009, mixing those traditional sounds with synthesizers and drum machines.

Key members include vocalist Jhon Loera, guitarist Esteban "Chucky" Herrera, and bassist Carlos "Papi" Cabrera. They've performed at festivals and collaborated with artists like Calle 13 and Bomba Estéreo. One of their tracks is "Ya Verás."

Their music has a dance-oriented feel, built around driving beats and pulsating basslines. It's not exactly electronic music with Colombian elements, or traditional music with electronic touches, it's more like both things happening at once.
