Syu is a guitarist from Tokyo who co-founded the Japanese power metal band Galneryus in the early 1990s. The band's debut album 'The Flag of Punishment' came out in 2001. He started releasing solo instrumental work in 2004 with 'Instinctive Behaviour,' which leaned more progressive than his band's material.
His 2010 album 'Reason and Answer' included the ballad 'Reason,' which became one of his most recognized pieces. Another track, 'Aishou,' also appears among his top songs. He's put out several solo albums since, like 'Unbreakable' in 2015 and 'Sweet Oblivion' in 2021.
Syu has worked with other musicians, including Masahiro Ito from DragonForce and Bernie Marsden from Whitesnake. He was born on October 18, 1973.
