Tab Benoit

Tab Benoit grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where his father played blues guitar. He started performing in local clubs, developing a style rooted in that regional sound. His debut album 'Nice and Warm' came out in 1992, followed by 'Standing Room Only' a few years later.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed his home and belongings. The next year he released 'Medicine,' which includes the song of that name. He's also recorded tracks like 'Cherry Tree Blues' and 'Louisiana Style' that reflect his Southern background.

Benoit has worked with musicians like Barry Bays on keyboards and bass, and Chris Andrews on drums. His music tends to be straightforward blues, without much studio polish or crossover ambition. He's been playing this way for decades now, mostly sticking to what he knows.
