Tadeusz Nalepa

Tadeusz Nalepa was a Polish singer-songwriter who grew up in a mining town in southern Poland. He formed the band Blackout when he was fifteen. His music sometimes drew attention from authorities during the communist period, and he was arrested in 1972 for drug possession.

His 1971 album 'Niebo Jest Większe Niż My' included the song 'Święty Boże Nie Pomóż,' which became one of his best-known tracks. Other songs like 'Co Się Stało Kwiatom' and 'Daję Di Próg' show his style, which mixed blues and rock with Polish folk elements. He worked with musicians including vocalist Mira Kubasińska and bassist Ryszard Olesiński.

Nalepa was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1997 and died in 2007. His songs, particularly 'Święty Boże Nie Pomóż,' remain familiar to many Polish listeners.
