A Japanese band built on driving basslines and introspective lyrics.
For a quick sense of their vibe, try "Movin'!" or "Everything." They're both good examples of that driving bassline and introspective lyric thing they do.
The single "Movin'!" broke through in 2013 with an infectious beat that topped charts in Japan and reached an international audience. Tracks like "Everything" and "Ame Ni Mo. Kaze Ni Mo." show their range within that groove-heavy, melodic style. Their later album "Cosmic Drift" added more complex arrangements and occasional traditional Japanese instrumentation.
Takacha formed in Tokyo in 2008 with Yuma Takada on vocals and keyboards, Shuichi "Chuchu" Takada on bass, Kenta Sakurai on guitar, and Junji "Jun" Ohtake on drums. Their sound has kept its electro-funk and pop core while letting the details shift over time.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
