Talkz formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, a Brazilian rock band that built a following with straightforward melodies and direct lyrics. Their debut album 'Viver' came out in 2003, anchored by the title track that became their most recognizable song. The lineup included Luiz Carlos Maluly on vocals and guitar, Bruno Gouveia on bass, Guilherme Monteiro on guitar, and João Lee on drums.
They followed up with 'Sem Você' in 2005, then 'Estação da Luz' in 2008 which included songs like 'Pra Ser Feliz' and 'Você'. A live album called 'Na Estrada' arrived in 2011, and their last studio record 'Pra Sempre' came out in 2014. Maluly dealt with vocal cord issues around 2008 that required surgery and forced some show cancellations, but he recovered and the band kept going.
At some point they got tangled in legal disputes over music rights, which complicated things for a while. They haven't released new material since 'Pra Sempre', but their early work, especially that first album, still gets played.
