Tamir Bar was born in Jerusalem in 1972. He started writing his own songs after being influenced by Israeli singers like Shlomo Artzi and Arik Einstein.
His debut album 'Birkat Ha'bayit' came out in 2004, with the title track becoming popular enough to establish him as a recognizable voice in Israeli music. He served as a combat medic in the Israeli Defense Forces in 2006, an experience that reportedly affected his songwriting.
Bar has released several albums since then, including 'Hayom' in 2007, 'Tkava' in 2010, and 'Shaar Lama'ala' in 2016. His song 'Tkava' (Hope) is one of his better-known tracks. He performs with a band that includes guitarist Guy Meir, bassist Yaron Bar, and drummer Eran Yaffe.
