Tassito Rayfran was a Brazilian rock band that formed in São Paulo in the mid-1980s. The group centered on singer and guitarist Tassito Rayfran, with bassist Gilmar Lopes and drummer Carlinhos rounding out the lineup. They came up through the city's punk scene, though their music would take a more cinematic turn.
Their debut album, also called 'História de Cinema,' came out in 1988. The title track became a significant hit, a ballad about unrequited love that drew inspiration from European New Wave films.
The band released several more albums in the early 1990s, including 'O Último Dia' and 'O Voo do Pássaro.' They toured in Brazil and Europe. Other songs like 'Só Depende De Mim' and 'O Amor Não da Pra Olhar' also became part of their catalog.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
