Tatukunmel is a Brazilian quartet that formed with Xandú on vocals and guitar, Ademir on vocals and bass, Beto on drums, and Dudu on guitar and vocals. Their sound pulls from Brazilian rhythms, pop melodies, and rock influences, with songs like 'Moranguinho' and 'Amor e Carinho' exploring themes of love and relationships.
Their 2003 single 'Moranguinho' became a breakout hit, though it also brought accusations of plagiarism that the band denied and which were eventually resolved. They released albums including 'Tatukunmel' in 2003, 'Cotidiano' in 2005, 'Enigma' in 2008, 'Sete' in 2011, 'Na Estrada' in 2015, and 'Respira' in 2019.
Dudu left the band in 2009 due to creative differences, and the remaining members continued performing and recording. In recent years, they've seen a resurgence in popularity, partly due to the album 'Respira' and their energetic live shows.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
