Tchezar came together in São Paulo, Brazil, with Rafael Castro on vocals and guitar and Leonardo Gonçalves on bass. They later added Leo Maia on drums, Romulo Fróes on vocals, and Pedro Sá on guitar. Their debut album was called 'Tempo de Amor,' and they went on to release others like 'Na Estrada,' 'Luz,' and 'Aurora.'
One of their best-known songs is 'Rodar Na Chuva,' a ballad that found an audience both in Brazil and beyond. Another track, 'Silêncio,' also appears among their top songs. In 2012, the band dealt with a copyright infringement claim, which they eventually moved past.
Tchezar's music blended indie pop, rock, and electronic touches. Outside of recording and performing, they were involved with environmental and LGBTQ+ rights causes.
