Tear Me Down

Tear Me Down formed in Italy in the early 1990s, a period of political tension that shaped their aggressive hardcore punk sound. Frontman Fabrizio Cataldi wrote lyrics that quickly drew attention, particularly with their 1994 debut album's title track "Feccia Nazista." The song's explicit anti-fascist message led to censorship attempts and legal challenges from Italian authorities, though the band maintained it was condemning neo-Nazism rather than glorifying violence.

Their lineup included founding members like guitarist Luca Mangoni, bassist Alessandro Marano, and drummer Fabrizio Angelini alongside Cataldi. Over subsequent albums like "In Testa" and "La Notte dei Centurioni," they explored themes of class struggle and social alienation while incorporating elements of thrash metal and grindcore into their sound. Songs like "(op) Pression" and "Against The State" continued their politically charged approach.

Tear Me Down developed a cult following through European and North American tours, though their performances sometimes faced protests and disruptions. The band's work, particularly "Feccia Nazista," became associated with anti-fascist movements in Italy and beyond.
