TéCanela formed in Bogotá, Colombia in 1999 with Andrés Cepeda, Fabio Martínez, and Juan Gabriel Turbay. They started playing local clubs and festivals, eventually signing with Sony Music in 2002. Their debut album 'Conexión' mixed salsa, cumbia, and pop.
In 2005, they released 'La Rumba Del Tartamudo,' which became their biggest hit. The song's rhythm and Cepeda's vocals connected with audiences across Latin America. Other tracks like 'Café' and 'Mi Yo Cabrón' also found their way into their setlists.
Turbay left in 2007 to work solo, leaving Cepeda and Martínez to continue as a duo. They kept recording, putting out albums like 'Por Amor' in 2009.
