Teenage Bottlerocket

Teenage Bottlerocket formed in Laramie, Wyoming in 2001. They started playing basement shows and DIY tours around that time, working out their sound in a place not exactly known for punk rock. The band's lineup has stayed pretty consistent with Ray Carlisle on vocals and guitar, Brandon Carlisle on bass, Kody Templeman on drums, and Miguel Chen on guitar.

In 2008 they put out an album called Warning Signs that got some attention. They've kept releasing records since then, including They Came from the Shadows, Freak Out!, and Step Back. Songs like Headbanger, Maverick, and Bottlerocket give you a sense of what they do straightforward punk with some melody mixed in.

They've had their share of trouble along the way. In 2012, Ray Carlisle was arrested on drug charges, which caused some disruption. The band writes about teenage life and some darker subjects, which fits with their general approach. They're still making music and playing shows, sticking to what they've been doing since those early days in Wyoming.
