Télépopmusik formed in 1998 as a trio of Stéphane Michicot, Fabrice Dumont, and Christophe Hetier. Their debut album 'Genetic World' arrived in 2001, anchored by the single 'Breathe' which became their most recognizable track. The record blended electronic textures with pop structures, establishing their sound early on.
They followed with 'Angel Milk' in 2005 and 'Chaméléon' in 2011. These later albums incorporated more varied influences and featured collaborations with artists like Damon Albarn and Bernard Sumner. Their catalog includes songs such as 'Stop Running Away,' 'Love's Almighty,' and 'Yesterday Was A Lie.'
In 2015, their former label Island Records filed a lawsuit over an undelivered album, which eventually settled. The three members handled keyboards and programming, vocals and bass, and drums and percussion respectively. Their music maintained a following through its mix of electronic experimentation and accessible melodies.
