Ten Minutes

Ten Minutes formed in Porto, Portugal in 2003, built around childhood friends Pedro Moutinho and Rui Costa. They started writing songs together, and one of those early efforts became 'Bons Amigos,' a track that eventually found a wider audience. The song's straightforward melody and lyrics about friendship gave the duo a recognizable starting point.

Their music pulls from folk and pop, with a relaxed, melodic feel. Beyond 'Bons Amigos,' songs like 'RRA' and 'Xamu' show the same uncomplicated approach to writing. They've kept at it for years, putting out albums without much fanfare about evolving or breaking new ground.

In 2009, they had a legal dispute with a former label, which was a distraction but didn't stop them. Later, in 2017, their decision to play a festival tied to a political party drew some criticism, though they said their music wasn't meant to take sides. These were just occasional bumps in a long stretch of making records and playing shows.
