Terapia formed in Mexico City in 2003, originally called Lecter. The lineup has stayed consistent with vocalist Andrés Giménez, guitarist Paco Ayala, bassist Jorge "Chiquis" Amaro, and drummer Rodrigo "Abulón" Guillot. They released their debut album under the name Terapia in 2004.
Their song "24/7" became particularly well-known, along with tracks like "60 S/min" and "Etsii." In 2006, they faced plagiarism accusations regarding a song called "Enamorado de Ti," but released another album that year called "Esa Parte de Ti." They were arrested in 2008 for disturbing the peace during a concert.
Later albums included "Un Juego de Dos" in 2010, "Tiempo" in 2014, and "Sobreviviendo" in 2018. Their lyrics often dealt with personal themes, and they maintained a reputation for energetic live performances.
