Teratism

Teratism is a metal band whose name comes from the Greek term for 'monstrous birth,' which fits their approach to music. Their lineup includes vocalist and lyricist Aenigma, guitarist Obsidian, bassist Necrotic, and drummer Tyrant. The band's sound pulls from death metal, black metal, and industrial elements, with Aenigma's guttural vocals and lyrics that often deal with violence and nihilism.

Their debut album 'A Trillion Slain' came out in 2012, followed by 'The Blackened Chalice' in 2015 and 'The Carnal Chalice' in 2018. Songs like 'An Evil So Vile' and 'Bloodthirst And Misanthropy' show their style: heavy riffs, pounding drums, and dark themes. They've played festivals and shared stages with bands like Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel.

Teratism defended the album as reflecting real-world horrors. Their music has drawn criticism for being excessive, but they've kept making the kind of extreme metal they want to make.
