Archive material and source history
Terceira Rua started in São Paulo in 1999, put together by three friends: Rodrigo Lombardi, Otávio Henrique, and Paulo Beto. They made music that spoke to the rough edges of life in Brazil, and they put out their first album, 'Sonho de uma Noite de Verão,' on their own in 2000.
Their song 'Pátria Precária' got a lot of attention for how it talked about poverty and injustice. In 2006, they were arrested after a show, but the charges didn't stick. They kept making records, like 'Cidade em Chama' in 2003.
