Background notes

Archive material and source history

Terceiro Mundo came together in Jamaica's reggae scene during the late 1970s. Their sound mixed reggae rhythms with jazz and soul touches, and they found an audience with songs like "A Droga Perfeita." The band's lineup included Stephen DeCosta and Bunny Rugs on vocals, Carl Brady on bass, Irvin Jarrett on keyboards, and Pablo Moses on drums.

They put out albums like "96 Degrees in the Shade" in 1979 and "The Perfect Drug" in 1986. Bunny Rugs passed away in 2014, and the group carried on after that.
