Terence jay

Terence Jay was born Conroy Ivan Tomlinson in Waterhouse, Kingston. He grew up listening to Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Burning Spear, and started writing songs about equality and redemption. In the 1980s, he joined the Bloodline Sound System, where he developed his skills as a lyricist and performer.

He released his debut album 'One Blood' in 1992, with the title track becoming something of an anthem for unity. The song's message about brotherhood seemed to connect with listeners across different cultures. He went on to record other albums like 'Straight Through the Valley' and 'True to the Dance'.

His music mixes reggae with dancehall, and sometimes touches of soul and hip-hop. He's worked with artists including Rita Marley and Beres Hammond. The songs tend to focus on social justice themes, delivered with a direct, sometimes fiery vocal style.
