Termiinal

Termiinal formed in Tampere, Finland around 2005 with Esa Holopainen on vocals and guitar, Antti Vauramo on bass, and Jukka-Pekka Miettinen on drums. Their name suggests a sense of finality that shows up in their music, like on the song "Abandonado." They put out their first album in 2006 and followed it with records like "Abandoned" in 2008 and "The Sum of All Fears" in 2010.

Their music tends toward melancholic atmospheres with lyrics that touch on abandonment and loss. Holopainen's vocals carry a raw quality over arrangements that pull from alternative rock and metal. Other songs in their catalog include "Algo Sobre o Amor" and "Espelho de Vênus."

In 2011, there were some accusations about the melody of "Abandonado," though those were dismissed. They kept working, releasing "In the End" in 2014.
