A Portuguese trio whose atmospheric music has been shadowed by controversy.
For their sound, try 'Dia Lindo'. For where they landed after everything, 'Solidão de Volta' tells you something.
Songs like 'Amor-perfeito' and 'Yoko' have that hazy, drifting quality that feels like late afternoon light through a window. Their sound is all soft edges and gentle melancholy, which made the 2018 abuse allegations against the Faísca brothers hit especially hard in Portugal's music circles. They denied everything and kept making records, but that tension between the dreaminess and the real-world accusations is part of their story now.
They started in 2013 with Gonçalo and Luís Faísca and their cousin Mariana Duarte. 'Salto' came out in 2015, then 'Júpiter' in 2017 and 'Riviera' in 2019. After the controversy, they put out 'Fome de Lobo' in 2022.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
