Terra a Terra was a Brazilian pop-rock trio that formed in 1982 with vocalist Edgard Scandurra, bassist Marcelo Fromer, and drummer Paulo Miklos. They started playing small clubs and festivals before releasing their self-titled debut album in 1986. That record included 'O Rapaz do Casaquito,' which became their best-known song.
Their second album, 'Indecente,' came out with another popular track called 'Malandragem.' They kept recording through the late 1980s and early 1990s with albums like 'Contracultura' and 'Caravelas,' working in some funk, reggae, and electronic touches while staying mostly in that pop-rock lane.
Scandurra's political comments sometimes drew criticism, but the band kept going for a while. They were one of those groups that had a few solid hits and a recognizable sound without becoming a permanent fixture.
