Archive material and source history
Terrorvision formed in Keighley, West Yorkshire in 1988, with Tony Wright as their frontman. Their debut album 'Formaldehyde' came out in 1991, and they found their biggest success with the 1994 single 'Alice, What's the Matter?' from their second album 'How to Make Friends and Influence People.'
That song became something of an anthem for its time, with Wright's sardonic delivery and a chorus that stuck. The band had other tracks like 'Bad Actress' and 'American TV' that followed a similar pattern of catchy hooks wrapped around Wright's observations.
Wright left the band in 1999, which marked a shift for them. They kept recording and playing shows with a dedicated following, and Wright eventually returned. Their sound was always more about straightforward rock energy than fitting neatly into any particular scene.
