Tha Heights formed in Manchester in the early 2000s around vocalist Johnny Whitfield, with guitarist Tom McCartney, bassist Matt Davies, and drummer Dave Thompson. Their 2005 single "Bazooka Bubblegum" got them some attention with its pop hooks and Whitfield's lyrics.
They put out a few albums after that - Altitude in 2006, Higher Ground in 2009, The Edge of the World in 2012, and Dimensions in 2015. Thompson left the band in 2007, which led to a break while they looked for another drummer.
Whitfield's writing sometimes stirred things up, but they kept going with what they were doing.
