Thalita Aneda came together in São Paulo in the early 2000s, with Thalita Aneda on vocals and guitar, Pedro Tavare on bass, and Lucas Arruda on drums. Their first album, 'Desde Que o Mundo Dá Voltas,' came out in 2005 and gave them their breakthrough. The title track became a hit, and they followed it with albums like 'Olhos de Lua' in 2008 and 'Praia do Futuro' in 2012.
Their music pulls from samba and bossa nova, mixed with indie rock touches. Songs like 'Plurais' and 'Segredos' show their way with rhythm and lyrics that lean toward the introspective. They've worked with other Brazilian musicians, including Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Marisa Monte.
In 2010, the band faced some criticism for their support of social justice causes, with some saying they were politicizing their art. They kept at it, though, using their platform to talk about the things that mattered to them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
