Thastrom Joakim

Thastrom formed in 1985 after Joakim Thåström's earlier work with the Swedish punk band Ebba Grön. Their debut album 'Thåström' that same year showed a shift from pure punk toward something more introspective, mixing rock and blues elements. Songs like 'Ingen Neratsang' and 'Aldrig Nansin Komma Ner' from that period carried a raw, questioning tone that would become familiar.

Over the next few years, their sound kept changing. The 1988 album 'Skebokvarnsv. 209' leaned into atmospheric textures, while later records like 'X' and 'Autonoma' moved through aggression and electronic experiments.

Their catalog includes tracks like '...Läs detta först!...' and 'Alla Vill Till Himlen' that work as straightforward punk or rock songs with a worn-in quality. There's no grand arc to trace, just a series of records where the writing stays direct and the arrangements follow whatever shape the song needs.
