Thaurorod formed in 2003 in Oulu, Finland. Their debut album 'Upon Haunted Battlefields' came out the following year, and they followed it with records like 'An Orcish Symphony' in 2007 and 'Ov Catharsis' in 2012. The song 'Into The Flood' appears on that 2012 album.
Their music draws from black metal acts like Emperor and Burzum, but they've incorporated melodic and atmospheric elements over time. Other tracks in their catalog include '24601', 'Illuminati', and 'Anteinferno'.
In 2013, Thaurorod had a legal dispute with their label Nuclear Blast that delayed the release of an album called 'An Enchanted Deity'. The band's lineup has changed around founding members Torog on vocals and bass, Jarkko on guitar, and Tuomo on drums.
