Thayná Borges and Thaynara Almeida met in their hometown of Goianésia, Goiás, and formed their duo in 2014. They gained attention with their 2015 debut album "Nosso Jeito," which leaned into traditional sertanejo sounds. Their 2018 single "Feito Tatuagem" became a breakthrough hit, its straightforward lyrics and melody connecting with listeners across Brazil.
Their later albums like "Sintonia" (2017) and "Dois Tempos" (2020) showed them incorporating more contemporary production touches while keeping their vocal harmonies central. Songs like "Tá Com Medinho, Tá?" and "Cabecinha No Ombro" continued in that vein, with arrangements that felt more current than their early work.
In 2019, they faced criticism after performing a cover of a traditional indigenous song without proper attribution. They acknowledged the oversight and said they would be more careful about cultural context going forward.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
