Thays formed in Brazil in the early 1990s with vocalist Ana Paula Baron. Their debut album was called "O Amanhã é Hoje." The band's music drew from samba and pop, sometimes with electronic touches.
In 1996, Thays released "Amor Eterno," which became their most recognized song. Another track, "Em Flor," also appears among their popular work. They put out several albums through the late 1990s and early 2000s, including "O Mundo É um Moinho" in 1997 and "Mil e Uma Noites" in 2000.
Ana Paula Baron remained the central figure in Thays. The group included guitarist Kiko Loureiro and bassist Roberto "Bola" Seidl at various points. They worked with other Brazilian artists like Milton Nascimento and Marisa Monte.
