THC formed in 2004 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, with Pablo Estigarribia and Thiaguinho on vocals, Neo on keyboards, Buzo on guitar, Felipe Andreoli on bass, and Yuri Sacchecker on drums. They put out their first album in 2006, simply called THC, which mixed funk, soul, and samba.

Their 2016 album Amigos, Amigos included the track "Amigos, Amigos (part. Kevin Lazzarotti)," which became one of their most recognizable songs. Other tracks like "Estilo Cachorro" and "Me Esqueceu" show their blend of Brazilian rhythms with pop and funk.

They released Alma in 2012 and Dance or Die in 2021, with the later album taking a more experimental turn. Their music draws from samba and funk while incorporating contemporary pop elements.
