The Alter Boys formed in Los Angeles in 1982 with Michael Quercio on vocals and guitar, Steve Scales on bass, and Danny Montgomery on drums. Their debut album 'A Little Pain Goes A Long Way' came out in 1985, featuring the title track that became one of their better-known songs. They also had a track called 'She's My Baby' on that record.
Quercio's drug addiction led to the band going on hiatus in 1987. They came back together in 1993 with a different drummer, Ron Tanna, and put out 'Where the Action Is' that same year. That album got some positive reviews but didn't sell like the first one did.
They kept playing shows and recording through the 1990s and 2000s, releasing albums like 'The Alter Boys' in 1996 and 'Live in Los Angeles' in 2004. Some of their other songs include 'Auto - Erotica,' 'Boy In A Bubble,' and 'Complete.'
