The Ambassador formed in 1995 as a collective focused on African music, with Damion Reid as frontman. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1997. The 2000 album 'Gimme Dat!' included a title track that got significant radio play.
In 2003, Reid faced domestic violence charges that led to a band hiatus, though he was later acquitted. They returned to performing afterward. Their catalog includes albums like 'Afrodisiac' from 2004, 'Soul Power' from 2006, and 'The Ambassador's Suite' from 2010.
Their songs include 'Amba-ss-ador,' 'Honor And Glory,' and 'Psalm 23.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
