They've released more than thirty albums since then, including 'Sons of the Sun' in 1983 and 'Crazy from the Heart' in 1992.
Howard handles lead vocals and guitar, while David provides harmony vocals and guitar. Their sound draws from the country, bluegrass, and gospel music they grew up with in the South. Other songs like 'Send Me a Letter Amanda' and 'Gotta Get a Little Crazy' show their range across straightforward country and more playful material.
In 1985, after a dispute with their record label in the early 1980s, they started their own label called Bellamy Brothers Records. They've kept touring and recording since, working mostly as a duo. In 1999, some listeners criticized their song 'Redneck Girl' as offensive, though the brothers described it as a humorous tribute to Southern culture.
