The Bird and the Bee formed in Los Angeles around 2005 as a duo between singer Inara George and multi-instrumentalist Greg Kurstin. Their first album came out in 2007, mixing jazz and bossa nova touches with indie pop. Kurstin handled most of the instruments on their records while also producing for other artists like Adele and Beck.
They put out several albums over the next decade, including 2009's 'Ray Guns Are Not Just the Future' and a 2010 covers record dedicated to Hall & Oates. Their 2015 album featured the song 'My Love,' which became one of their better-known tracks. Other songs in their catalog include 'How Deep Is Your Love' and 'All Our Endless Love' with Matt Berninger.
At some point they left their record label, though the details around that are thin. They've kept a fairly low profile as a duo while both members have other projects, with Kurstin's production work keeping him particularly busy outside the band.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
