The Bloody Beetroots came out of Italy in the mid-2000s, led by Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo. They built a reputation on high-energy live shows that mixed electro with rock and hip-hop. Their track 'Chronicles Of a Fallen Love' became an early anthem, driven by a catchy melody and heavy beats.
They've put out albums like 'Romborama' in 2009, 'Hide' in 2013, 'The Great Electronic Swindle' in 2015, and 'Terminal' in 2019. Rifo handles vocals and production, while Tommy Tea works the turntables and effects. Other songs like 'Awesome' and 'Church Of Noise' show their range across techno and rock sounds.
Rifo's outspoken style and unconventional approach sometimes stirred things up with labels and critics. But they kept pushing their sound forward, pulling in collaborators like Peter Murphy on vocals and Tommy Lee on drums for certain tracks. Their live sets at festivals became known for that same intense, genre-blending energy.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
