The Bronx formed in Los Angeles in 2002, with Matt Caughthran on vocals, Joby J. Ford on guitar, Brad Magers on bass, and Jorma Vik on drums. Their first album came out the following year, a self-titled record that established their hardcore sound with tracks like 'Around The Horn' and 'Notice Of Eviction.'
Over the next decade, they put out several more albums, including 'The Bronx II' in 2006 and 'IV' in 2008. In 2013, they released an acoustic album called 'Bronx VI,' which was a noticeable shift from their usual style. Their 2023 album 'Bronx VII: The Bronx' returned to more straightforward punk material.
Their songs often address social and political themes, with titles like 'Everything Dies' and 'Revolution Girls' hinting at that content. The band has maintained the same lineup since their early days, which has given their work a consistent feel across different projects.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
