The Buckinghams formed in Chicago in 1966. Their debut single 'Hey Baby (They're Playing Our Song)' became an immediate hit, followed by other chart successes like 'Kind Of A Drag' and 'Don't You Care.' The original lineup included Carl Giammarese, Dennis Tufano, John Poulos, Nick Fortuna, and Marty Grebb.
They released several albums including 'Time and Changes' in 1967 and 'Mercy, Mercy, Mercy' in 1969. The band experienced lineup changes, with Tufano leaving in 1969 and later regaining rights to the band's name through legal proceedings.
Their music continues to be heard on oldies radio, and they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002.
