The Crack formed in the early 2000s with Karlijn Brouwer on vocals, Arjan van der Woude on guitar, Raaf on drums, and Jelle on bass. Their debut album 'My World' came out in 2004, featuring the title track that became their most recognizable song.
They released several more albums including 'You're Safe Here' in 2006, 'Black Lines' in 2009, and 'The Offering' in 2012. Brouwer's lyrics sometimes drew attention for addressing unconventional subjects, though the band's sound drew from various rock traditions rather than fitting neatly into one category.
Their lineup remained fairly stable through those years, with Brouwer's vocals and van der Woude's guitar work forming the core of their recordings. They eventually disbanded, but 'My World' still surfaces occasionally on rock playlists from that period.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
