I was just a boy

The first time I heard of Cheyenne

I fell in love with the word, and what to me

Seemed such a strange exotic land

Where cowboys

Still rode the high plains

And Heaven kisses the Earth

And a person could be free enough

To find out what he was worth

Other than the streets of this town
