The Dewarists formed in Mumbai in 2008 around vocalist Abhinandan 'Abby' Srinivasan and guitarist-producer Nischay Parekh. Their debut album 'Dewarists' came out in 2010, with the single 'Dil Beparvah' becoming a notable track from that release.
They've put out two more albums since then, 'Dewarists 2' in 2014 and 'Dewarists of Love' in 2018. Their music has appeared in Bollywood films like 'Tamasha' and 'Highway'.
The group's lineup has included bassist Ehsaan Noorani, drummer Ranjit Barot, and keyboardist Sharat Chandra Srivastava alongside the founding members. In 2015, they faced plagiarism accusations over the song 'Aaj Bhi' and ended up removing it from their album.
