The Flatliners formed in Edmonton, Alberta in 2002 with Chris Cresswell on vocals and guitar, Scott Brigham on guitar, Jon Darbey on bass, and Paul Brinner on drums. Their debut album 'Destroy to Create' came out in 2005, and they spent the next few years touring heavily across North America.
They put out several more albums including 'The Great Awake' in 2008, 'Cavalcade' in 2010, and 'Dead Language' in 2013. The lineup shifted over time, with Brinner leaving the band in 2012. Songs like 'Eulogy' and 'Calutron Girls' show their mix of raw punk energy and melodic hooks.
A track from 'Cavalcade' called 'Count Your Bruises' became particularly popular with their audience. In 2014, they faced some criticism for using a Confederate flag backdrop at a show, which they later addressed.
