The Force came together in Washington, D.C. in 1982, with Ricky Jones on vocals, Dave Grohl on guitar, Tommy Victor on bass, and Mike Sconiers on drums. Their first album, 'Aggressive Assault,' came out the following year. The title track and songs like 'Doomsday' and 'Heathen's Attack' gave a pretty clear idea of what they were about.
They put out a few more records after that, including 'The Fire Still Burns' in 1984. The music was loud and fast, pulling from punk and metal, and Jones's lyrics didn't pull any punches. They weren't trying to make friends with it.
