The Golden Filter formed around Chris Walla, who had been in Death Cab for Cutie, and producer Martin Feveyear. Their first album, 'Silent City,' came out in 2011 with songs like 'Favourite Things' that caught some attention for its atmospheric sound.
They've put out a few more records since then, including 'Irreversible' and 'Phantoms,' which kept working with electronic textures and ambient touches. Tracks such as 'Hide Me' and 'Solid Gold' show the kind of moody, layered production they tend toward.
At one point in 2015, they had a festival slot canceled, though the details around that aren't clear from what's here. They're still making music, with 'Infinite Range' being their most recent album.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
