The Head and the Heart formed in Seattle in 2009 with Josiah Johnson, Jonathan Russell, Charity Rose Thielen, Chris Zasche, and Kenny Hensley. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2011, featuring songs like 'Rivers And Roads' and 'Lost In My Mind' that helped define their early sound.
In 2013, Thielen left the band, and they released 'Let's Be Still' that same year. They followed it with 'Signs of Light' in 2016. The group faced a significant change in 2019 when allegations against Johnson led to his suspension from the band.
